Not many people are going to watch the CAA men's basketball league. It's a mid-major conference with a horrible TV contract through FloHoops whom I wish nothing but bad things for. The CAA isn't the A-10 or even the WCC, so it really doesn't get much love; it never gets more than 1-bid to the NCAA tournament that's for sure. So a lot of people probably missed it last night when the Towson basketball arena was the perpetrator of a very sticky situation.
Less than two minutes into the second half the referees got together and decided to suspend the game, canceling the rest of play for the night. The reason? Players had been slipping on the court throughout the game, causing injuries to players on Towson and Delaware's roster. I'll admit, when the game was first suspended I had the audio muted and had no clue what was going on. So as anyone does in this situation, I took to Twitter for my answers.
The only answer I could find at first was "play was canceled due to unsafe conditions." Ok, so did the AC unit break? Did the recent cold weather cause a pipe to burst somewhere in the arena? I was getting annoyed at the vague answers until I found this:

You're kidding me, right? The floor was too sticky? What the hell caused that? Did somebody use the wrong cleaning agent? Spill a soda? Have to get some physical relief before the game? What're we doing here people?
This is an embarrassing look for Towson, who has notably struggled with their fan atmosphere to begin with. Now it'll be even harder to convince alumni (like me) students and fans to come to hte games if they can't even see it finish out.
I will always love my school, but damn. Find a mop or something guys.
