Whelp, that was an unceremonious ending in Carolina. Matt Rhule was fired today in what can easily be equated to a mercy killing for all people involved. It was clear that his coaching style wasn't meant for the NFL, and it seemed increasingly clear that he didn't even want to be in Charlotte anymore.
This is a great reminder for everyone to know your limitations. Rhule's a good coach for college programs that don't register on a national scale. He fixed Temple and Baylor, and could easily do that for another program that needs a redirect, ala Arizona State. It's ok to the be the Pat Fitzgerald's and the Jeff Brohm's of the world as long as you know what you are and stick to your lane. And most important:
Don't. Sign. With. Nebraska. Matt.
