So Cole Irvin decided what number he's going to wear on his jersey for the Baltimore Orioles this season. He decided to go with #19. For those who don't pay much attention to Charm City baseball, this is the same number that short-lived local legend Chris Davis wore while playing 1st base. I'm not sure why, but since this was Davis' number, people are big-time mad on Twitter

Are we serious right now? These people remember that they're talking about Chris Davis, right? The same guy who only batted above .250 3 times when he played a majority of the season? The same guy who was an absolute liability at the plate his last 4 years in town? Sure he was a defensive stud, but fans were looking to run this guy out of town and now they want his jersey number protected? Make it make sense!
If somebody tried to take Adam Jones or Nick Markakis' number, I'd totally get the anger then. But hell I'm putting JJ Hardy on that list before I even think about Chris Davis. We have to be better as than that as a society.
