Stop the Narco Train Already!

Ok, we get it, everybody wants to use Narco at key moments for their team now. That's all well and good, but guess what, it's not yours to use. The song belongs to two people, and only two people: Timmy Trumpet and Edwin Diaz. I'm not even a fan of the Mets and I can understand that.

Diaz has been using the song as his walk-up music since before he had a breakout year in 2022. This wasn't a new phenomenon that was put together as a marketing ploy or anything like that. Narco is quickly becoming the new Seven Nation Army where one fanbase latches onto it and then it explodes into every crevice of sports.

Enough! Do your own thing. Find your own banger to use as a walk/build-up song for the crowd. Copying this makes the song lose it's luster and it's sense of fun. Why not pay the Mets marketing department and fire your own since you can't come up with an original idea? I've even heard at Maryland football games, and if there's a college football team that definitely doesn't deserve to use that song, it's the Terps. Diaz's job is to come in and save games, Maryland does everything they can to blow games.

EDM is a wonderful genre full of hits that could be great for these types of situations. We don't have to get pigeon-holed into only one option just because one guy did it and now everybody thinks it's cool. Let Diaz and the Mets have their thing and go be more creative.
