Loss 68-65 vs. Minnesota

So this isn't good, right? Even if you only pay a small amount of attention to college basketball you should know that there isn't a good loss on this string of games. Not that any loss is a good loss, but these are just inexplicable. So looking at these losses, there's no way Rutgers is going to make the big dance, right? Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
Win 70-68 vs. #1 Purdue
Win 84-63 vs. #19 Michigan State
Win 66-64 vs. #18 Ohio State
Win 73-65 vs. #15 Wisconsin
Win 70-59 vs. #12 Illinois
I don't understand this team. I've heard of playing up or down to your competition, but this is extreme. I mean, anybody who looks at the wins alone would think Rutgers is a top-25 team no questions asked; if they only look at the losses then they might think they're only slightly better than IUPUI who is busy holding open tryouts to fill their roster. Looking at the two of these combined, I have no clue what to make of this team, and if/where they'll fall in the tournament.
Someone has to make it make sense, and I'm glad I'm not that person.
