Much to the Surprise of Absolutely Nobody...

The Washington Football Team announced their new mascot today. They've been planning this for months, and promised a ton of misdirection along the way to keep fans on their toes. But if we're keeping things honest with each other, who actually believed they would be able to pull that off? This is the same franchise that has bungled every last thing it could get its hands on, and this was no different.

It started with Jason Wright being caught on an interview with this:

If you zoom in on the paper it says Commanders with a team crest/logo on it. Was this purposeful misdirection, or just a another total gaff by the organization. I think we all know the answer to that.

Then after several leaks and pictures coming out suggesting even further that the team will be the Commanders, we have this tweet:

Did anyone really think this team could pull off any kind of misdirection to it's fans? This is the same team that blatantly puts out a terrible product both in-terms of work environment, and teams on the field. Dan Snyder loves to command people around, so much so he's had to pay several of them off with hush money, but the name makes sense right?

There was never any way the guy who views himself as a commander, would name his team just that. All of this but he wouldn't shell out the money to go with the fan favorite in RedWolves. Dan Snyder truly does not care about his fans
