I'm confused. Georgia is -3 in the National Title game tonight. Why?! There's no reason this team should be favored over Alabama, even with their record for a majority of the season. Kirby Smart is 0-4 against his former boss Nick Saban, and that's not going to change. Somebody please tell me why you think this is going to happen.
Before you try and bring up Alabama's top two receivers being out, keep in mind that the Tide once had Derrick Henry, Mark Ingram TJ Yeldon and Kenyan Drake all in the locker room at the same time. There's no shortage of talent even if the top 2 guys are out. Not to mention we saw Alabama just run the ball down Cincinnati's throat in the semifinals, and there's no legitimate reason to believe Georgia's defensive line will do any better against Bama's O-Line after what we saw in the SEC title game.
Georgia is starting Stetson Bennett again after he got wrecked in the SEC title. He's not dynamic enough to beat a Nick Saban defense. Everyone knows the best chance you have against a Saban D is to have a mobile quarterback, and Bennett is as mobile as a brick wall. He's shown he's not that guy, and they have the option of going to JT Daniels, but he was hurt for a majority of the year, and on the COVID list before the semis.
I mean, it really is this simple:
