Horns Down: Texas is STILL not Back

With 10 minutes left in the 4th quarter, and Texas up by 8 it's time for me to call my shot: Texas is going to lose this game.

The Longhorns are about to conduct one of the worst choke jobs in the history of the Red River Rivalry. They started the game red hot, dropping 28 points in the first quarter, Oklahoma to only 7. In the 2nd, it was a lot more even, with Texas putting up 10, OU scratching a little bit back with 13. Halftime score, Texas 38, Oklahoma 20.

So this should've been easy, right? Wrong. This is Texas, remember? Just when they're supposed to be good, they remind you they're consistently mediocre. The Longhorns came out in the second half and have effectively done nothing on offense. Only 3 points in the 3rd quarter, and nothing so far in the 4th. They've struggled just to get first downs!

Meanwhile, Oklahoma made a change at QB, benching Spencer Rattler and bringing in their freshman signal caller Caleb Williams, and it has changed everything for them. Oklahoma's offense has been a lot smoother, and more dynamic.

Even if Texas somehow manages to hold on for the win, they should take this as a loss. They looked so dominant to start, and couldn't sustain it throughout the whole game. For a program that wants to get back to national relevancy, that's not a good look.

And as I'm typing this Caleb Williams drops an absolute BOMB to Marvin Mims to get Oklahoma within 2. Check and mate.
