For legal reasons everything I'm about to say is my opinion. I'm not going to say that I feel the need to say that because Dan Snyder gives me the vibe that he's a vindictive fuck. I'm not going to do it.
Yesterday was the first ever organized game for the newly named Washington Commies; I mean Commandos; I mean Commanders. It was a meaningless when it comes to wins and losses, but it reminded me of something for when the regular season comes around.
The more losses this team takes, the better.
Look, I don't care about a lot of things as much as I care about the removal of Daniel Snyder as Washington's owner. The man is a continued embarrassment both as a franchise owner and as a general human being. People want to say that they just want to talk about only the players and let the Snyder thing go for a little bit and to those people I say you are the reason he is still able to be an owner.
Oh, don't worry, I know I contribute to the problem in my own way. So yes, I am hypocritical, but I do my best to mitigate the hypocrisy and I'm willing to admit to it unlike most people.
It's an unfortunate reality that the record of what the player's do on the field is tight so tightly to the owner, but it's the truth nonetheless. The more this team wins, the more the man stands to profit, and that's only going to contribute to the issue.
There's already plenty of lunatics who still willingly go into that stadium, buy concessions and buy merchandise of which he gets a direct cut of the sales; it's not like broadcasting deals where it's a revenue sharing type of situation. These are the people that I think are the worst part of the issue. Even fans of opposing teams who come here to watch their team play. Is it ridiculous of me to want them to refuse spending their money at his stadium? Yeah, probably. But I'd say it's even more ridiculous that there's a non-zero chance that when you walk into the arena that you'll have raw sewage dumped all over your body.
It's a rare day that I'll talk anything politics related, but I could not be happier that legislators in VA are refusing to approve his bid for a new stadium there. Let FedEx field continue to crumble. Force this man to watch a bad team inside a literal hellscape. Give him every ounce of misery possible.
So yeah, I call myself a Washington fan, even if I do always preface it by saying, "regretfully." I want this franchise to be good, but I don't want it to be good while he's at the helm. So until then, I want my team to get their butt's kicked week in and week out so people will stop going to the stadium, and he'll stop being profitable to the other 31 owners.
I still believe that the main reason he hasn't been forced out already is that he has a bunch of dirt on the other owners, but I can't do anything about that. I can't just hope he affects their pockets as negatively as possible that they decide to cut their losses and force him out.
And yes, if you are willingly stepping inside FedEx Field, or any other stadium where there is a very real chance of having sewage dumped on you, you are a lunatic. Hard stop. Oh, and release the Wilkinson report already.
