I didn't plan to wake up on a Monday and sit in a Twitter space listening to a bunch of Washington Commanders fans and a drama-filled situation that happened. Yes, I am a fan of the Commies, but at this point it's out of a sheer sense of loyalty, there are no genuine feelings of positivity. I hope the best for the players and coaches, but not as an organization.
It's no secret that the owner of the franchise is an absolute joke of a human being, and those who are working for him and allowing him to perpetuate his behavior are even worse (i.e. Jason Wright and Julie Donaldson). So if the guy who is the end-all-be-all of the franchise is an absolute problem, why would people want to galvanize and support him?
Now, to be specific, the people in this space did not say that they are supporting Snyder. They want to support the players, Ron Rivera, and for some reason Jason Wright. They may have said more before I got into the space but I wasn't there so I can't speak to it. What they seem to be ignoring is how impossible it is to support these groupings of people, without supporting Dan Snyder. I've been a fan of this team since I was born, but I won't watch a game of theirs unless it comes up on Redzone, and I'm damn sure not going to the stadium that leaks sewage on its fans.
Choosing to say that you don't want to discuss the negative aspects of what have gone on is the type of behavior that has enabled Snyder to continue in his ways. Saying that you can only play the cards that you're dealt is a bullshit cop-out when the person dealing you the cards is stacking the deck. Saying you want to bring the fans together for anything other than ousting the total scumbag own is a waste of time and air.
The desperation for a distraction is embarrassing.
