If I am anything in this world, it is a gear collector, particularly sports jerseys. I'm not really a traditional male-fashion kind of guy, I've just never cared enough about it. I'm glad I don't have to wear a suit and tie to work everyday because I'd be wildly uncomfortable in them. On the other hand, I can wear any shirt that I want to work as long as it's both family friendly, and paired with some jeans or golf shorts; something with a decent level of professionalism to them.
Enter my love of sports jerseys. At the same time, enter the Premier Lacrosse League being the biggest jerks on the planet for consistently tempting my impulse control. I don't have a lot of spending money right now because, like many others my age, I'm still working on student loans, have normal bills to pay, and know that my car has a shelf life that's coming closer into view with my odometer over 150k now.
I struggle with my impulse control, as I'm sure many do. It's really easy for me to get caught up in the new shiny thing and have it stick my the crevices of my brain space until I satisfy that itch to purchase that item. I have been working on controlling it better, and things have definitely improved, but days like today are a real test of my mental fortitude.
The PLL, in their infinite wisdom, is having their teams release limited edition jerseys in what appears to be a very calculated on-at-a-time type of deal, spaced out over a 12-day interval. Just enough time to hit your next paycheck, or convince yourself you can make it to your next paycheck since you only have one option available to purchase instead of one from every team.
Up first were Atlas with these beauties:
Today, Chrome Lacrosse Club released these absolute pieces of art:
Just kill me now, please. I'm resisting, and thankfully I only need to for 48 hours, but I mean.... COME ON PAUL [Rabil]! Leave my wallet alone man! I couldn't do last year's limited editions, and it's absolutely gut wrenching that I can't afford them now.
I'm in real trouble whenever Archers come out with theirs. Hopefully they're last so I have some time to save up for it.
