Okay, okay, I get it. Baltimore is still in last in the AL East. So no, they aren't exactly good yet. But let's be honest, this is Baltimore we're talking about, and they have been awful for a majority of my lifetime. They had a few good years in the mid 2010s, but for the most part the closest thing I've seen to good with this team was Melvin Mora.
Baltimore is 35-40 right now which means they are already over halfway to the over on their season win total that was set at 62.5. For a team that finished tied for the worst-record in the league last year, that's prettaay prettaay good. Add that with the fact that they have a better record than 12, that's right, 12 other MLB teams, and it makes it even more of a joke that they're forced to play in the loaded AL East
Good morning.

The Orioles have more wins than 12 Major League Baseball teams.
I didn't think I would be blogging about baseball much, let alone the Orioles, let alone the Orioles in freaking JUNE. There are only 7 players on the active roster older than I am (29) and one of them is the decaying body of Robinson Chirinos, who was really just meant to be a place holder until Adley Rutschman was called up. Chirinos will be the backup and a mentor moving forward, but not an integral piece to the teams puzzle and is easily expendable.
Eventually, Grayson Rodriguez will get called up, and he's barely old enough to order a drink, then add in a Gunnar Henderson and Colton Cowser who both have birth years starting with a 2 (damnit, I'm old now), and even a Heston Kjerstad, who isn't very well known yet, and the youth of the roster looks scary levels of fun. I mean, RDT from Barstool tweets so much about this team that he 1. clearly knows what he's talking about a lot more than I do 2. made it so I had to dive through 4 days of his Twitter timeline just to find the most recent Kjerstad beauty.

This team won't blow you away statistically, they're 25th in batting average, 15th in home runs, 20th in ERA, and 10th in stolen bases, but that's not what matters. What matters is that they're gaining ground, and they're winning games, and everyone who took their preseason win total over (D'oh!) is sitting pretty right about now. So no, the Orioles aren't exactly good, but they're frisky, and they're damn fun.
Now, if only I could figure out to steal RDTs infamous gif he posts after every O's win.
