The past few days I have been substitute teaching at a local high school, where I've picked up on a new fashion trend that I thought I would never see again. I thought we had grown as a society, and all came to an unspoken agreement that this wouldn't happen again. Yet, to my disappointment, here we are again.
What am I talking about? Bell-bottom pants.
Yes, unfortunately this style is starting to come back into popularity when I thought it would be dead and gone for the rest of time. It should've been at least. I don't understand certain fashion-trends and why people think it's cool for them to come back. Guys are rolling up their shorts to make short-shorts a thing again, and bell-bottoms are following a similar kind of come up. Add in the high waisted part of the pants and I can't stand what we're doing as a society.
I thought the purpose of fashion was to grow and continuously improve. Not to go back and rehash what past generations have worn. I might as well do my own reverse fashion trend and start using suspenders instead of a belt.
What are we teaching these kids?
