If you have lived under a rock the last few years, you may have missed that Baltimore Ravens being an elite running team in the NFL. They've been so elite that they were creeping up on a historic, albeit obscure, rushing record held by the Pittsburgh Steelers. The record in question is consecutive games with other 100 yards rushing as a team, currently at 43.
Late in the 4th quarter of their games against the Denver Broncos, the Ravens needed just a few yards to tie this record. The only caveat being that the Ravens were already winning by 16 points, and football etiquette would suggest this is the spot where you snap the ball, kneel, and call it a day. Well, John Harbaugh decided to have his guys do this instead:
The @Ravens keep the streak of 100-yard rushing games alive, tying the NFL record of 43 games. #RavensFlock pic.twitter.com/aluv7h4y03

If this play had happened at any other point in the game it would be completely innocuous and a complete non-story. But since this was the last play of the game and Baltimore clearly ready to take a W on their flight home, the natural reaction for coach Vic Fangio and the Denver Broncos offense was to feel disrespected, and extremely pissed at Harbaugh's call.
When asked about the play by the press, Fangio didn't worry about mincing words. Fangio makes the point that player safety doesn't appear to be a concern of the Ravens, which is a BOLD claim. This could have been a shot at how many injuries the Ravens have had this season, infamously losing their 3 top running backs, and premier Cornerback Marcus Peters for the season. Now, I'm all for speaking your mind, but Fagio's comment about the play being bullshit... well it's pretty bullshit of him to make the kind of claim about Baltimore's care of their players without feeling any pressure to back up this claim.
What I am absolutely all for is a quality clap back. And Harbaugh came to play today:
Harbaugh said he wasn’t aware of a 16-point play so he questioned what Broncos throwing ball into end zone with 10 seconds left had to do with winning.

And final Harbaugh: "Throwing the ball in the end zone with 10 seconds left? I don’t know that there’s a 16-point touchdown that’s going to be possible right there. That didn’t have anything to do with winning the game."

I mean, damn. Harbaugh's comments just absolutely ethered Fangio. I mean, if there's any greater way to make him look like a bitter old man who can't take a loss please let me know. I'm calling the fight as a TKO in favor of Harbaugh.
Vic, before you make your next statement, think about your children, and just hold both of your L's instead of digging a deeper grave.
